Moldy Jam is the longest running jam of old time music in the Madison area. It started in the mid 1980s and has revolved around the principles of sharing old-time and irish tunes in a accepting and welcoming setting. We have been invited to play at farmer's markets, barn dances, weddings, street parties, church outings, house celebrations, picnics, birthday parties, anniversary bashes, retirement socials, and nursing homes. We have played on both Wisconsin Public Radio and WORT recorded and live and we were one of the bands asked to play at the celebration of music that opened the Overture Center. Moldy Jam is still going strong with members ranging in age from sixteen to sixty and it continues to provide a venue for people who want to learn to play music that is part of American History.
